Camp Dream has been designed and built to be barrier-free for people of all ages
with a wide variety of disabilities and severity levels. This facility is
a gift of love to disabled Georgians and is a place where they have an opportunity
to develop their full potential as people in a rustic, natural setting.
Since 1975, the Georgia Jaycettes Foundation worked to provide a recreational facility for Georgians with disabilities. Camp Dream is a component of the Center for Therapeutic Recreation at Warm Springs and is a partnership between Roosevelt Warm Springs, the Georgia Department of Labor Rehabilitation Services, numerous private donors, and the Georgia Jaycees (www.GaJaycees.org).
Our Camper to Counselor ratio is 1:1, with a small group of Junior Counselors. Camper and Counselor/Junior Counselor applications for the 2008 Camping Session are available as of March, 2008. Camp Dream celebrated it's 12th Anniversary Camping Session with a "Wild -N- Wacky" theme in 2007! The Renaissance theme for 2008 is Camp Dream-A-Lot!
Camp Dream is a non-profit organization and would not be possible without your help! If you are interested in sponsoring a Camper, your donations are tax deductible. There are also fundraisers to help with the costs of the Camping Session. They include: a Car Show in the spring, Golf Tournaments in the spring and fall, and the State Fairs in the fall.
